Hey RUST fans we’ve had Gretta Harley’s album spinning here (sounding extra fantastic on vinyl) and we’ve got an article coming soon but we recommend y’all take a peek at this very talented artist asap. The record sounds amazing – it’s a potent and intimate artistic statement. We’ll say “”Wow” about it now, and we’ll have more to say about it soon!

GRETTA HARLEY/Element 115 (Uup): You thought it was dangerous to go out with Taylor Swift or Kathy Griffin? Here’s an art chick that put together an album based on a quick romance that fell apart in short order. Stuff like this makes you think there’s something behind David Crosby’s assertion that Joni Mitchell can’t speak (because there’s nothing left to say?) anymore as this follows right in the ‘do most of it yourself/confessional’ stuff Mitchell hangs her hat on. Today’s pissed off college girl will wear the grooves off this vinyl in no time flat.

It’s a safe bet you will not hear another record like Gretta Harley’s ‘Element 115 (Uup)’ in 2015 or possibly for many years to come...You just can’t sit down and listen to ‘Element 115 (Uup).’ You need to experience it. You need to turn it up and turn off the world. You need to laugh, cry, dance around in your underwear or take whatever you feel and let it loose. It doesn’t matter, Harley is freeing something not only in herself…but in the listener. And here’s a tip: WEAR HEADPHONES! It will make the journey so much better.
